The States Parties to the present Covenant undertake to ensure the equal right of men and women to the enjoyment of all economic, social and cultural rights set forth in the present Covenant. Article 3 seeks to ensure equality between men and women in the enjoyment of economic, social and cultural rights. It is closely related to the general prohibition on discrimination in Article 2(2), which also prohibits discrimination on the basis of sex.
