Nairobi, 6 May 2001) Kama started his career in the judiciary of his country, Senegal, first as Examining Judge, 1969–1973; then as a Public Prosecutor, 1973–1995, appearing before various courts including the Supreme Court of Appeal. One of the leading criminal justice experts in West Africa, Kama contributed to the establishment of, and taught at, the Ecole Nationale de la Magistrature in Dakar, and participated in the drafting of Benin’s criminal procedure code.
