Article 34 of the ICC Statute provides for a Pre-Trial Division and Article 39 stipulates that Pre-Trial Chambers (PTCs) shall be composed of three judges and that the functions of the Pre-Trial Chamber are carried out by the Chamber or by a single judge, in accordance with the Statute and the Rules.
