1 The European Centre for Medium-Range Weather Forecasts (‘ECMWF’ or ‘Centre’) is an intergovernmental organization. It has its headquarters in Reading, United Kingdom. 2 ECMWF was founded in 1974. Its primary purpose is the development of a capability for medium-range weather forecasting and the provision of medium-range weather forecasts to its Member States. 3 ECMWF presently has 22 Member States and 12 cooperating non-Member States.
