Call for Rapporteurs: Oxford Reports on International Law: UN Human Rights Law

Oxford University Press, Professor Başak Çalı, Dr. Alexandre Skander Galand and Dr. Aristi Volou are looking for human rights case law reporters to help maintain coverage of decisions of United Nations Human Rights Treaty Bodies in the Oxford Reports on International Law: International Human Rights Law (IHRL) module.
Reporters are asked to write headnotes for views on individual complaints identified by the editors as relevant or important for the development of international law, particularly the interpretation of international human rights law and the development of the jurisprudence of the United Nations Human Rights Treaty Bodies. The headnote will follow a template, including basic information, factual background, and legal analysis, and should not, in principle, exceed 1500 words. Reporters will be paid £35 (or £70 worth of OUP books) for each accepted headnote and will be named in the doc-ument as the author.
Successful candidates will be offered training in legal writing and research skills and will be part of a team of reporters. This is a great opportunity to be a part of OUP’s successful case law reporting service, to add to your portfolio of publications and to be part of the analysis and dissemination of UN human rights treaty body case law.
Reporters should possess:
- A post graduate or doctoral degree in international law or be in the process of studying for one; or have equivalent experience, for example studying for a post graduate degree in international affairs, but with masters level exposure to international law
- Strong writing, analysis and legal research skills
- A high standard of English
- Demonstrated knowledge of international human rights law
- A minimum of one year commitment to the programme
