Comment:

Solar de la Marguerite, Traités Publics de la Royale Maison de Savoie, vol. II, p. 144, reproduces from the Savoy archives the text of this Treaty, which is printed also in Dumont, Corps Universel Diplomatique du Droit des Gens, vol. VII, Part II, p. 272, being there derived from a manuscript copy communicated by one of the plenipotentiaries. Both texts include the Secret Article concerning the Vaudois. The Treaty and Article appear in English translation in Generall Collection of Treatys vol. I, pp. 334, 338. The Treaty was ratified by Savoy on 20 November 1690 and the Secret Article by The Netherlands on 8 February 1691 (Public Record Office, London: S.P. 108/442). The Secret Article was renewed by the Secret Article of 4 August 1704. Dumont, cf. cit., p. 288, further prints from a reliable manuscript source a Declaration by the Netherlands agreeing to an extension of the subsidies stipulated for in Article III.
