Fyodor Fyodorovich Martens (also known as Friedrich Fromhold von Martens, 1845–1909) was the foremost Russian international lawyer of the Tsarist period. As professor of international law at St Petersburg University, he authored a number of influential texts on international law that were translated in a number of foreign languages. His most significant work was the first comprehensive Russian textbook on international law, Contemporary International Law of Civilized Nations (1882–83).
