8 The Israeli Occupation of the West Bank and Gaza

This chapter outlines some aspects of the Israeli administration in the territories it occupied during the June 1967 war. Until the occupation of Iraq in 2003 (see Chapter 9) this was the only occupation since World War II in which a military power has established a distinct military government over occupied areas under the framework of the law of occupation.
