To catch sight of the road that led to Rome, one should retrace the steps and try to reconstruct how this road came into being. Inevitably the walkers on this road will have different memories and probably also different views on what contributed to its creation. My story is just a personal impression of only a part of the road, but I hope it will give the reader an idea of the steps that together brought us to Rome.
