Global Governance and European Union Integration

1 The term Global Governance combined academic theory and practical policy formulation dating from the 1990s and became entwined with the meta-phenomenon of the last two decades—globalization. It seeks to explain the structure of global authority and investigate the ways that power is exercised and account for changes in and of the system (Weiss and Wilkinson; Fahey, 2018a).
