Whether judicial proceedings and the subsequent conviction on requalified terrorism charges were politically motivated and therefore violated the right to fair trial under Article 14 of the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights (‘ICCPR’), the right to freedom of association under Article 22 of the ICCPR, and the right to be elected under Article 25 of the ICCPR.
