1 The Badinter Arbitration Commission (‘Badinter Commission’) was originally established by the European (Economic) Community (‘EC’) as an organ of the Conference on Yugoslavia (the ‘EC Conference’) which the EC convened through the Declaration of 27 August 1991 in the context of its intervention in the process of the disintegration of the former Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia (‘SFRY’; Yugoslavia, Dissolution of ).
